Premier of Nevis, Hon. Joseph Parry will be in Antigua to show support to the Nevis Pro Team, as they rally against Montserrat at the Stanford 20/20 Cricket match on Friday, February 8, 2008 in Antigua.
The coach for the team is Mr. Stuart Williams, while the manager will be Mr. Derek Parry, both former West Indies Cricket team players.
The team will be chosen from a squad consisting of Joel Simmonds (Captain), Akito Willett, Carlon Smithen, Daynason Browne, Ian Byron, Jamoy Pemberton, Javien Liburd, Joseph Williams, Jurnell Turner, Kejell Tyson, Marvin Hamilton., Nelson Boland, Runako Morton, Sherwin Woodley, Tonito Willett and Trevier Smithen.
In the 2006 Tournament, Nevis was the surprise package which showed that they could not only beat big teams, but destroy them as well. Tonito Willet’s tournament’s high of 86 from 44 balls assisted Nevis to dispose of home team Antigua.
Carrying on through to the semi-finals, Nevis was unfortunately outplayed by Trinidad and Tobago, but Nevis has a great team that has been working very hard this year and the Nevisian public is in high hopes of the Nevis Cricket team doing extremely well against Montserrat.
