The Nevis International Culinary Heritage Exposition (NICHE) has been rescheduled to December 5-7. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA) Mrs. Garcia Thompson Hendrickson made that announcement recently after the passage of Hurricane Omar had forced the event to be postponed in October.
In keeping with her commitment to inform the public of the alternative dates for NICHE, Mrs. Thompson-Hendrickson urged the public to attend the event.
“I just want to apologise to any persons who have been inconvenienced by the rescheduling and we want to thank you sincerely for your patience.
“I want to again encourage you to go out and support the event and I guarantee you, you will have a delicious time,” she said.
The NTA CEO said though the Four Seasons Resort would not be involved in the event due to the damage it had sustained from Hurricane Omar, the celebration of Caribbean cuisine and cultural heritage would commence on the morning of Friday December 5 at Mansa.
It would be followed by cooking demonstrations and lunch in the afternoon with dinner and music and dancing at Coco Beach in the evening.
On Saturday the 06, there will be cooking demonstrations and lunch at Old Manor with a special appearance by our celebrity chief Carmen Gonzales of the USA. In the afternoon there will be rum tasting and chocolate pairing.
In the evening there will be dinner, rum tasting and cigar rolling at the Nisbett Plantation Beach Club. On Sunday there will be bar tending demonstrations and a gourmet lunch also at the Nisbett Plantation Beach Club.
The cost for the event can be accessed through the NTA office or call 469-7550/1042. Interested persons could also log on to the NICHE website at www.nevis-niche.com for additional information.
