The website of a charter airline (Excel) which flies from the United Kingdom into the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, has been voted among the UK’s top ten travel websites.

Excel Airways, which flies every Saturday into the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport from London-Gatwick, said its website, XL .com, achieved the feat less than six months after launching a new look, simpler to use website.According to statistics recently published in the Travel Trade Gazette, web analysts Hitwise have identified XL.com as one of the travel industry’s major players based on web visitor numbers between April and June 2006.

A PR company said that recent figures also released by the Civil Aviation Authority confirm Excel’s recent growth, now placing them as the 5th largest tour operator in the UK.

XL.com continues to improve its online flight and holiday shop, making it quicker, easier and more informative for users. Admitting that surfing the net for the best deals can be time consuming and sometimes frustrating, XL.com said its aim is to make this experience as easy as possible with front page low prices and a range of in-flight extras which mean that passengers can tailor make their own flight experience.

XL.com said it offers a wide choice of flights and holidays through Excel Airways and Excel Holidays, flying from 12 UK airports to over 50 destinations including mainland Spain and the Balearics, the Canary Islands, Greek Islands, Cyprus, Turkey, Egypt, Malta, Portugal, France and Italy.

Plans are in place for even further growth with the Caribbean the latest addition to the XL.com portfolio. Just recently launched, Excel’s holiday and flight sales to the Caribbean are already in full swing on all of their 5 new routes to Antigua, Barbados, Grenada, St. Kitts and Tobago.

Development on the website incorporates new routes as they come on-stream putting XL.com right on course to further increase their position in the online ratings.

The flight is an important part of anyone’s holiday because a good journey will set the holiday off on the right foot. Which is why, at Excel Airways everything will be done to make every flight as enjoyable as possible.

XL’s core fleet of Boeing 737-800’s and Boeing 767-200’s are all fitted with leather seating and linen headrest covers for maximum comfort.  It said added to this are its punctuality record and high standards of care and service.
