Meeting To Be Held On Thursday

A one-day systematic review of all current and pipeline EC-funded interventions in St. Kitts and Nevis will be conducted here on Thursday.
A delegation from the European Commission in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, led by Head of Delegation, His Excellency Ambassador Valeriano Diaz, will conduct the Country Portfolio Review (CPR) meeting with members of the Office of the National Authorizing Officer (NAO).
The meeting will also be attended by local officers within technical ministries, and other stakeholders on the key challenges involved in programme implementation, as well as effective strategies for improving on such.
National Authorising Officer, Mrs. Hilary Hazel will give the welcome and introductory remarks at the start of the session, which includes an overview of the Country Portfolio by Ambassador Diaz, review of the fiscal and economic situation in St. Kitts and Nevis by Financial Secretary, Mrs. Janet Harris and in-depth discussion of the 9th and 10th European Development Fund Programmes.
At mid-day, St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas and Ambassador Diaz will sign the Country Review Paper just before a press briefing.
Following lunch the participants will review the Sugar Diversification Strategy and Implementation Status of the former 300 sugar workers.
A discussion on the EU- St. Kitts and Nevis Cooperation Programme and overall implementation issues will conclude the review session.
