This time, the wedding gown is going to be on Caribbean-born designer Noreen Phillips.
The internationally renowned, Vincentian-born dressmaker, who runs Noreen Phillips Couturière in St. John’s, Antigua, is to marry English businessman and financier Gerald Staines in a private ceremony tomorrow, according to a spokeswoman for Pole Vault Communications.
The ceremony is scheduled to be held on the island of Nevis at the groom’s exclusive Caribbean Glory villa, which has dramatic, 360-degree views of the Caribbean Sea and Nevis Peak. Later this month, family and friends of the couple are expected to attend an invitation-only reception in Antigua.
“This is a true partnership in every sense of the word,” said Phillips, noting that she and Staines will be starting a company and marketing an upscale line of pret-Ã -porter clothing, signature Phillips hats, one-of-a-kind handbags and accessories.
