Craft House Prepares For Region’s Premiere Show

Basseterre, St. Kitts (July 16, 2007)

The Craft House is busy preparing for the premiere gift and craft show which takes place in September in Curacao.

General Manager of the Craft House Austin Weekes told SKNIS that his organization was putting together an exciting selection of items that will highlight the talent of locals and display the creative thought process that goes into creating craft products.

The Craft House will proudly fly the flag of St. Kitts and Nevis at the September 27 to 30 event but Weekes said it was important for other local gift and craft producers/traders to take advantage of this opportunity to establish new markets.

“The Caribbean Gift and Craft Show will be held at the World Trade Center in Curacao,” he revealed. “Space is limited so it is important that persons sign up as soon as possible. Exhibition Hall 1 is already fully booked, but there is still space available in Exhibition Hall 2.”

St. Kitts and Nevis’ hosting of the event at the St. Kitts Marriott Resort last year was highly praised by organizers, participants and patrons.

Organizing officials have reportedly expressed a strong interest in having the event staged here in the near future.

The Caribbean Gift and Craft Show, now in its fourteenth year of existence, generally attracts over 200 exhibitors from across the English, French, Dutch and Spanish speaking Caribbean.  The show is primarily targeted at trade buyers from the region and international markets.

The general manager added that registration and other details about the show are available at www.caribbeangiftandcraft.com.
