ECCB Monetary Council To Meet in St Kitts – Nevis

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas is expected to head the twin-island’s delegation to the 61st meeting of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank Monetary Council.

The Council’s meeting will be convened at the Bank’s headquarter’s on Friday 8th February under the chairmanship of Anguilla’s Minister of Finance, Hon. Hon Victor Banks.

Council Members will receive the report from Central Bank Governor, Sir K. Dwight Venner on monetary and credit conditions and provide directives and guidelines to the Central Bank as mandated by the ECCB Agreement 1983, which governs the operations of the Bank. They will also discuss policy responses to increasing consumer prices in the ECCU.

Following the meeting, Council Members will meet with representatives of the St Kitts and Nevis media at a press briefing, where they will review the meeting’s communiqué and respond to queries posed by the media.
