Nisbet Staff at Curtain Bluff Resort
Nisbet Plantation
Nevis, West Indies
August 17, 2011
As part of its ongoing commitment to staff development and training, Nisbet Plantation Beach Club recently participated in a staff exchange with Curtain Bluff resort on Antigua. Both Caribbean beach resorts have been consistently honored among the world’s best hotels, including the recent 2011 Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards where Nisbet ranked No. 1 and Curtain Bluff was No. 10.
Two of Nisbet Plantation’s staff members traveled to Antigua and two employees from Curtain Bluff traveled to Nevis for the two-week educational experience. Glendina Liburd, a server at Coconuts for 16 years, and Leonora Didder, Reservations Manager with 23 years of service, from Nisbet Plantation, and Sandra Hazelwood and Eulanda Anthony, housekeepers from Curtain Bluff, participated in this first staff exchange between the two Caribbean hotels.
“This exchange was very positive and productive for all of the participating staff members and our resorts overall,” says Jamie Holmes, General Manager at Nisbet Plantation Beach Club. “Our staff members have returned with fresh ideas, new friendships and greater knowledge of the hotel industry from experiencing first-hand another resort’s operations, which are being shared with the rest of the Nisbet team.”
“Our staff members, and the high quality of personal service they provide, are critical to our success,” Mr. Holmes continues. “Each team member is invaluable and I believe that it is important to invest in their development with programs such as this. We look forward to participating again next year.”
