Yet Another Shooting In St. Kitts

On Sunday 12th December 2010 police received a report that there had been a shooting at Bay View Housing at approximately 2:30 am. A number of police officers from the Basseterre Police Beat and Patrol, Anti-Narcotics Unit, Special Services Unit, Anti-Gang Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department responded immediately and were allocated with their various policing responsibilities.
Based on information detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department visited the JNF Hospital and spoke to Brian Brookes an adult of Bay View Housing who informed them that while he was driving into his drive way at approximately 2:30 am an unknown male person who was at the time wearing a dark coloured hooded shirt which covered his head fired a number of gunshots at him. Damage was done to Mr. Brooke’s vehicle and he received gunshot injuries to his left and right upper arm and abrasions on his chest.
Mr. Brookes was detained at the JNF Hospital and warded in stable condition. Officers from the Crime Scene Department processed the scene and took the damaged vehicle, as well as a number of items of evidential value into police custody for further analysis. There are no suspect(s) at this time however investigations are ongoing.
