Ms. Joeanne Flemming – State Scholar

Premier and Minister of Education, the Hon. Joseph Parry expressed happiness Friday morning at the good news that Nevis was the home of the Federation’s State Scholar for the 4th consecutive year.
This year’s winner, Miss Joanne Flemming was a student of the Charlestown Secondary School Sixth Form College.
Principal Education Officer, Mrs. Lornette Queeley Connor said the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) provided the scholarship Rank order listing for St. Kitts and Nevis. She went on to say that the listing is based on candidate’s performance on the 2009 and 2010 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE).
According to information received from the Ministry of Education in St. Kitts, Miss Flemming gained Grade 1 passes in the following four qualifying units: Caribbean Studies, Accounting Units 1 and 2 and Management of Business Units 2. She also gained two Grade 2 passes in the other three qualifying Units, Management of Business Unit 1, Sociology Unit 1, and one Grade 3 pass in Information Technology Unit 1.
Miss Joanne Flemming is the daughter of Father Ernest Alroy Flemming and Beverly Ann Flemming, residents of Ramsbury.
Joanne is currently a teacher at the Charlestown Secondary School.
