Premier and Minister of Nevis Tourism, the Hon. Joseph Parry welcomed the Royal Princess Cruise Ship when it made its inaugural visit to Nevis on Wednesday, January 27, 2010.

A brief welcome and gift exchange ceremony took place on board the ship.  Premier Parry and Marketing Officer, Ms. Tamika Lawrence presented gift baskets and literature about Nevis to the Captain, Mr. Ivan Jerman. In turn he presented a plaque with a picture of the ship to Mr. Parry.

During brief remarks, the Premier stated that he was pleased the Royal Princess Cruise ship had added Nevis to its itinerary and was hopeful Nevis would remain on the Ship’s Caribbean schedule in the future.

  1. Just returned from a week in Nevis. Oh my. I cannot imagine all of those people from ships all over the island. There is a serious garbage
problem. Soon there will be more disease and crimes etc. Why would you all spoil the only paradise left. I have been coming to the island since 1994. It will have an impact on the water as well. That just makes us sick. Guess we can cross that off our list for summer. Sounds like you will be running out the people who stay for longer times than an outing for one day and who will spend little money. There is nothing to buy. Cruise ship passengers will never appreciate a place so special. Please reconsider. Best to all the wonderful loving people there.
