Minister of Finance, Dr. the Hon. Timothy Harris has blasted the leadership of the People’s Action Movement (PAM) for involving him in their “scheme of stealth, subterfuge, intrigue and deception,”

Responding to an article issued from the Secretariat of the People’s Action Movement (PAM), Minister Harris denied there is disagreement with the Prime Minister, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas, over the initiatives announced in his statement to the nation on Monday night.

“Indeed, these measures had been the subject of discussions at Cabinet level, and between my Ministry and the Government’s main banker, the St. Kitts and Nevis Anguilla National Bank,” said Dr. Harris, who added: “there was no surreptitiousness except in the mind of the false accuser.”

“It may well be that the unholy purveyor of the untruth begrudges the Government’s ingenuity in such a time like this to offer meaningful relief to the public servants and the public at large,” said Dr. Harris.

He added: “Left with their mouths agape at Labour’s demonstration of “˜capable hands in these most serious times,’ the political wannabes have sought to embroil me in their scheme of stealth, subterfuge intrigue and deception.”

Stating that he takes the strongest possible exception and objection to them and their fabrication, Dr. Harris, said “I abhor and I am incensed by their efforts to implicate me.”

“It also calls into question the integrity and journalistic independence of SKNVibes to carry such a story that would be of great political interest at this “silly season” without even an effort to contact me to verify these very serious and malicious allegations in their story,” said Dr. Harris.

He emphasised that the purveyor of the untruths and mischief clearly intended to foment disunity in the rank and file of the Labour Party and would stop at no end to achieve his /her nefarious objectives.

“Clearly that purveyor has no moral minimum. It is regrettable that to achieve meagre political points, the People’s Action Movement, would propagate such untruths,” said Dr. Harris.
