Mixed Reviews For Mango Festival 2023
The Nevis Tourism Authority released a statement regarding the recent Nevis Mango Festival, which received mixed feedback, particularly about the event’s organization and execution on its final day.
“We at the Nevis Tourism Authority would like to thank everyone who attended the 9th Nevis Mango Festival, held this past weekend from June 30 to July 2. On Sunday, the ‘For the Love of Mangoes’ event at Malcolm Guishard Recreational Park attracted record numbers of visitors. This incredible turnout reflects the success of our marketing efforts for this year’s festival.
However, we are aware that the large crowd led to some logistical issues that affected the experience for some attendees. We sincerely apologize for these challenges and are urgently reviewing the event to identify areas for improvement, ensuring that all patrons can enjoy a first-class experience in the future,” the statement said.
Many attendees took to social media to express their disappointment. One individual stated, “This is absolutely the worst experience I’ve ever had!” Some complained that food was unavailable by the time they arrived, while others mentioned that wait times for food, drinks, and entry were several hours long.
Despite the criticisms, some attendees praised the Nevis Tourism Authority for hosting a successful event. “Kudos to the Nevis Tourism Authority for organizing what I believe was a successful mango festival. The turnout was massive, and the chefs did a fantastic job with their delicious dishes,” one person wrote on Facebook.
The Nevis Tourism Authority announced that it has already begun reviewing this year’s festival and planning for the 10th anniversary event next year.
“We assure everyone that next year’s festival will be even bigger and better. We welcome feedback from the public to help us make the Nevis Mango Festival one of the Caribbean’s top events,” they added.
