Cape Air Plane At Nevis International Airport
Big news from the sunny Caribbean island of Nevis – Cape Air is back in action! On February 15, 2023, the airline kicked off its operations at Vance W. Amory International Airport (VAIA) with a swanky inaugural flight from St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands.
As the Cessna 402 9-seater aircraft landed, Deputy Premier of Nevis Hon. Eric Evelyn and Mr. Devon Liburd, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Nevis Tourism Authority (NTA), greeted the six lucky passengers on the tarmac. To make things even more exciting, a masquerade troupe gave the visitors a lively performance, and Cape Air and NTA gave them each a cool gift bag (#ad).
During the ceremony that followed, Hon. Evelyn spoke on behalf of Hon. Mark Brantley, Premier of Nevis and Minister of Tourism. He expressed his excitement about Cape Air’s return and praised the airline for increasing airlift into VAIA. Mr. Liburd also praised the airline, stating that its service would benefit Nevisians living in the US Virgin Islands who are eager to visit home.
Ms. Katya Ruiz, Regional Marketing Director for Cape Air, echoed the sentiment, saying that the airline was thrilled to be partnering with Nevis again. She announced that Cape Air would be offering daily flights between St. Thomas and Nevis, with two flights on Sundays.
Other guests at the ceremony included members of the NIA Cabinet, Mr. Oral Brandy, General Manager of NASPA, officials and staff from the Ministry of Tourism, representatives from the airline, hoteliers, and other invitees.
