St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas says the Beach House Restaurant and adjoining beach cottages is a glimpse of the level that hospitality and tourism development will be like as his governing St. Kitts-Nevis Labour Party continues to transform the national economy.

Formerly the Turtle Beach Bar & Grill, Prime Minister Douglas said the new Beach House Restaurant, which will seat 60 persons, is not only making a very bold statement to St. Kitts and Nevis, but to the entire world, that it will “generate the necessary energy that is going to be required to propel this country forward and harmonize the necessary human resource to sustain the efforts of his Labour Government to change St. Kitts and Nevis for the better.”

He said the new hospitality and tourism facilities are just a glimpse of what the multi-billion Christophe Harbour Project will develop into and praised the local contractors for their high level of efficiency.

“It (Beach House and Cottages) must be seen as an area that will generate the calmness, the beauty, the serenity and the comfort to the high end traveler who would come to this part of the world, who would check into one of those beach cottages and who on awakening in the morning, will throw back the doors and look at what is really is paradise and heaven on earth in St. Kitts and Nevis,” said Prime Minister Douglas in the presence of Governor General His Excellency Dr. Sir Cuthbert Sebastian; Deputy Prime Minister Hon. Sam Condor, Cabinet Ministers, senior government officials and representatives of the developers.

He thanked all the stakeholders as his government moves St. Kitts and Nevis forward and upward in the name of the people of the twin-island federation.

Prime Minister Douglas hailed the high level of work on the renovation of the restaurant and construction of the cottages, pointing out that it was all done by local companies.

He used the opportunity to thank the local companies including B & B Backhoe, Morris Greaux Electrical Services, Keith Romney Plumbing, Lennox Warner Partners, Rock & Dirt, St. Kitts Industrial Supplies, Williams Electrical Services, Allies Construction Limited, Reliable Plumbers, N. Brisbane Architects; Chartered Surveyors of St. Kitts and Nevis, Craig Collins Land International Landscape, Athill Rawlins Water Engineering, Errol Liburd Electrical Design, Elmars Solar and Plumbing, Arthur Backhoe Services,  Caribe Refrigeration, as well as the St. Kitts Development Control Authority, the Planning Board, the St. Christopher Air and Sea Port Authority, the Electricity Department and the Water Department.

Vice President of Auberge Firesky Group Limited, Kittitian Ellis Hazel said the renovated Beach House and the construction of the luxurious beach cottages “signal the vertical construction efforts as part of the multi-billion dollar Christophe Harbour Project.”

“Much has been said of this development in the media and we have waited with much anxiety for some actual activity on the South East Peninsula,” added Hazel, who chaired the brief ceremony.

Mr. Charles “Buddy” Darby of KHT Land Holdings, which purchased the Turtle Beach Bar & Grill Restaurant located on Turtle Beach from the Pereira family, in brief remarks agreed that the new Beach House and amenities are a glimpse of what is in store for the whole Christophe Harbour Development.

Mr. Darby also praised the high level of work exhibited by the 30 local contractors and government agencies for collaborating on the project.

KHT Land Holdings is a partnership between Kiawah Development Partners of South Carolina, Auberge Hotels and Resorts, and JB Turbidy, who are involved in the multi-billion dollar project which has been described as a powerful partnership of award-winning hoteliers, architects, engineers, real estate developers, golf experts and environmentalists, will, when completed, result in the creation of an incomparable seaside resort that will revolutionize luxury travel in the Caribbean.

The project will sit on six spectacular beaches. Its natural harbor, sheltered by green hills and high bluffs, will provide the ideal setting for mega-yachts as centerpieces of a seaside village of restaurants, shops, boutiques, two five-star hotels managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Auberge Resorts and oceanfront homes. Atop the green cliffs will be a Tom Fazio championship golf course and clubhouse plus a collection of luxurious villas and private homesites.

Initially, two luxury hotels are planned for Christophe Harbour, accommodating visitors and yachting enthusiasts who will dock at the Marina or call it home. The first hotel will be a five-star boutique property under the management of Auberge Resorts, respected for its collection of exceptional hotels, resorts, spas and clubs.

The second five-star hotel will be managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, the award-winning owner and operator of some of the world’s most prestigious hotels and resorts. Each property will be intimate, elegant and individually designed to take advantage of the splendid natural surroundings of these singular hotels.

  1. What a frigging dump! Turtle Beach Bar & Grill rocked man. Now we have to see this place for a bunch of well heeled snobs. Poor St. Kitts more and more like the crap US Virgin islands everyday, no wonder crime rate is way up in Kitts and Nevis
