Nevisians Urged To Take Advantage Of UNESCO Projects

CHARLESTOWN NEVIS (December 14, 2006)
General Secretary for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) Mr. Antonio Maynard has encouraged Nevisians to familiarise themselves with projects and programmes offered by the Organisation and to take advantage of them.
 
Mr. Maynard’s advise came at the end of a UNESCO sponsored Library training project certificate award ceremony on Tuesday December 12, 2006, at the Department of Education, Marion Heights in Nevis in a bid to raise UNESCO’s profile and sensitise the public on Nevis.
 
He said, though UNESCO funded projects had increased on Nevis over the years, there were many more available that had not been fully utilised.

St. Kitts and Nevis’ Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas had a message for all service providers at the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport.

“All of the investment of millions of dollars will be of little use to this country, if the service is not professional, if the service is discourteous, and if the service is not helpful and if the visitor experience, resulting from our service does not encourage him to return again and again and spend well needed tourist dollars with our restaurants, our taxi operators and craft vendors,” he said at the official opening of the new parking apron, new and extended taxi way, new fuel farm and resurfaced runway and existing parking apron.
