Thousands Of Offshore Companies Registered On Nevis

Premier and Minster of Finance the Hon. Joseph Parry told Diplomatic representatives that the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) had intentions to continue to ensure that Nevis maintained an Offshore Financial Services jurisdiction of the highest standard.
 
The Premier made the statement on Wednesday February 19, 2008, at the Ocean Terrace Inn (OTI) in St. Kitts, when he addressed Diplomatic and Consular representatives accredited to St. Kitts and Nevis while they attended activities to mark the second annual Diplomatic Week hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on St. Kitts. 
 
The Nevis Finance Minister had been invited to present the topic “Nevis’ Strides in the Financial Services Sector” in which he gave a comprehensive outline of some of the activities that contributed to the growth of the industry since it had been introduced on the island in 1984.

St. Kitts Cruise Ship Docking Brouhaha

Chairman of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA), Mr. Linkon Maynard, has taken issue with the reporting by Sun St. Kitts/Nevis on the berthing of cruise liners at Port Zante.

“In the past this newspaper has been guilty of reporting utterly false information concerning various issues affecting the berthing of Cruise Ships at Port Zante. I refer to your various assertions that make reference to the availability of a tug boat at Port Zante Berthing Facility. Despite the fact that there was obviously no creditable substantiation for your assertions, we have noticed that you repeatedly make the same reference and innuendos concerning the capacity and reliability of the Port Berthing services,” said Mr. Maynard in a letter to the Editor, Mr. Timothy Payne.

Hospitality Training Appeals To St. Kitts – Nevis Youth

New recruits for the UNESCO Youth Path Project are expressing excitement about the start of Phase 2 in which they will be exposed to entrepreneurship training in the field of tourism and heritage.

Loyola Challenger, one of the new Youth Path students told SKNIS that although she is not 100 percent  certain about her future vocation, she hopes to expand her knowledge about the tourism industry and explore the possibility of working in the field, especially in the area of hospitality.

Secretary General of the National Commission for UNESCO Mr. Antonio Maynard recently announced that the launch of Phase 2 of the UNESCO Youth Path Project would take place at the Ocean Terrace Inn on Tuesday 26th February at 10:00 a.m.
