The newly elected President of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) Julian Hunte will articulate his ambitions for West Indies cricket in a series of meetings in St. Kitts, on Thursday.
Last evening, Hunte was met on arrival by the Minister of State with responsibility for sports Hon. Richard Skerritt, who welcomed him and used the opportunity to briefly discuss a number of cricket related issues.
Today, Hunte is expected to meet with WICB selectors Gordon Greenidge, Andy Roberts and Clyde Butts who are also on island. The new chairman will meet with Prime Minister Hon. Dr. Denzil Douglas and will visit the Len Harris Cricket Academy. He is also expected to briefly visit third round limited overs matches in the ongoing WICB TCL Under 19 championships.
At 3:00 pm, Chairman Hunte will attend a news conference organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture. The conference will be held at the Sugar Bay Club at Frigate Bay. Topics expected to be discussed include the upcoming 20-20 Cricket World Cup as well as the future development of cricket in the region.
