Cape Air Inaugural Flight To St. Kitts
Cape Air has officially launched its inaugural flight to St. Kitts, marking an important milestone in regional air travel across the northeastern Caribbean. The aircraft touched down at Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport on Saturday, signaling the start of new air services designed to improve connectivity between St. Kitts, Nevis, and St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands.
This new route expansion enhances travel options for residents, visitors, and the Caribbean diaspora. By offering more efficient inter-island connections, Cape Air’s service supports tourism growth, business development, and cultural exchange throughout the region.
Grand Welcome for the First Cape Air Flight
The arrival of Cape Air’s first-ever flight to St. Kitts was celebrated with a ceremonial water cannon salute, a traditional aviation honor reserved for landmark occasions. Following the landing, a welcoming ceremony was held at the Kayan Jet Lounge, bringing together key stakeholders from government, tourism, and the aviation sector.
Among those in attendance were Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Denzil Douglas, Minister of Tourism Marsha Henderson, senior tourism officials, and executives from Cape Air. Speakers at the ceremony emphasized the importance of strengthening air links within the Caribbean and highlighted the role that reliable regional flights play in economic resilience and cooperation.
Officials noted that improved connectivity between St. Kitts, Nevis, and the US Virgin Islands will help deepen regional ties, support local economies, and make travel more convenient for both short stays and extended visits.
Four Weekly Flights Supporting Inter-Island Travel
Cape Air will operate flights on four days each week, providing consistent and dependable service for passengers traveling between neighboring islands. Flights will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering flexible scheduling for business and leisure travelers.
Scheduled Flight Times
- Nevis (8:30 am) to St. Kitts (8:40 am)
- St. Kitts (6:35 pm) to Nevis (6:45 pm)
- St. Kitts (9:40 am) to St. Thomas (10:45 am)
- St. Thomas (4:44 pm) to St. Kitts (5:49 pm)
These short flight times provide a convenient alternative to ferry travel and longer routing options, making it easier for travelers to move between islands for work, family visits, and tourism activities.
